RIM has based the magnet selection in these holster designs on the ISO 7811 standard, which generally ensures a magnetic card built to the higher end of the spectrum (eg. credit cards) will not be wiped. Unfortunately, hotel cards are generally built in the lower end of the spectrum, and are susceptible to being wiped by low-strength magnets such as those used in BlackBerry carrying cases. Therefore, in order to protect against poorly manufactured electronic cards, please take care when using the carrying solutions in close proximity to any other product or item that may be susceptible to magnetic fields.
